Location:  Podere la Piazza is located in the heart of the Langhe and Monferrato, just 15 km from Alba, symbol of the truffle fair and the international wine fair, 15 km from Asti and 40 minutes from Turin.

Costigliole d’Asti is part of the 50th UNESCO heritage site; from April to November, every weekend, you can visit the Asinari Castle, where exhibitions and events are held. Twice a month the Church of the Confraternity of San Gerolamo can be visited, in the Medieval Fortress, with the Museum of Sacred Art.

The important event “Barbera il Gusto del Territorio” (Barbera the taste of the territory) is held the first weekend of November, with the chance of tasting 200 Barbera wines from over 100 producers at the Cantina dei Vini of Costigliole d ‘Asti.

It is a few kilometers from Govone, where the Christmas markets are set up, and you can meet Santa Claus.

Relax: swimming pool for the warmer months, outdoor areas equipped to enjoy the view over the surrounding hills and vineyards.

The farm offers the possibility of organizing horse-riding excursions, walks or trekking among the vineyards, visits to wineries and distilleries, and it is also possible to buy and taste the typical products of the farm.

Rooms: Rooms are characteristic and welcoming, renovated to maintain the atmosphere of the past, equipped with satellite TV, private bathroom and air conditioning.

Restaurant The Podere La Piazza Restaurant is suitable for different needs. Romantic dinners, business dinners, birthday parties, communions, various receptions and business meetings.

The cuisine is predominantly typical and local, but there is no lack of revisited dishes.

Recurrences such as Communions, Baptisms, Graduation Parties, Bachelor / Bachelorette parties. It is also the perfect location for wedding receptions for which the exclusivity is guaranteed with the possibility of celebrating the ceremony on site.

Josè is also the chef, he graduated at the Hotel Management School and has a degree in Economics. He worked at a young age in starred restaurants and attended pastry training courses in France. Barolo … Barbaresco … Are you already reaching for the “good” glasses ?

They’re not just the names of some of the most prestigious wines in the world, but also villages that give to wine lovers as we are some precious gems like the landscapes they offer. These are places with a deep soul, only here wines suitable for meditation and philosophical reflection to share with your new friends for life can be born.

The “Barolo chinato” … let’s talk about it … this is not just oenology but it’s truly “wine-poetry”: born in 1890 from the brilliant idea of two pharmacists looking for a pleasent way for their patients to take quinine. It’s based on Barolo DOC with added sugar, alcohol, rhubarb and some other spices including “china calisaia” but each winemaker has a different recipe that keeps jealously secret … it perfectly matches with dark chocolate with at least 60-80% cocoa, you know what I’m talking about … the chocolate that leaves your tongue sticked to your palate and you’ll be happy for a week.

Stupinigi hunting lodge Savoy Resicence for Hunting and Festivals built starting from 1729 on a project by Filippo Juvarra, it is one of the monumental jewels of Turin. Built on the land of the first donation of Emanuele Filiberto to the Order of Saints Maurizio and Lazzaro (1573), it is now owned by the Fondazione Mauriziano, a government agency dedicated to its conservation and enhancement. Reopened to the public after important restoration work, the “Palazzina di Caccia”, among the most extraordinary eighteenth-century complexes in Europe, has full museum dignity with its original furnishings, paintings, masterpieces of cabinet making and the design of the territory.
It is a loisir place for hunting in the life of the Savoy court, a sumptuous and refined favorite dwelling by the Savoy for parties and weddings during the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries, as well as a residence chosen by Napoleon in the early 1800s. At the beginning of the twentieth century it was chosen as a residence by Queen Margherita, and from 1919 it is also home to the Museum of Furniture.

The Borgo Medievale of Turin
The Medieval Village of Turin is an open-air museum located along the banks of the Po river, in the Valentino Park in Turin. Entering, through the drawbridge, means traveling in time and space, leaving the city of the twenty-first century to find a moment of serenity between arcades, fountains, artisan shops, gardens and a castle that looks at you from its height.
Inside the crenellated walls, the buildings follow one another along the main road, in an extremely evocative route re-proposing piedmontese and valdostan buildings, side by side to form an inhabited nucleus animated by the artisan shops. The Safari Park delle Langhe

The Safari Park delle Langhe was born in 1976 in Murazzano, in the province of Cuneo, in the beautiful land of Langhe.

It is characterized by a amazing view of rolling green hills which allows the visitor’s gaze to sweep from the mountains almost to the sea, offering an incomparable landscape! In this wonderful scenery, tempered with pleasant breezes, the Safari Park delle Langhe develops in a spectacular wide area of over 70 hectares on which displace the different environments for our animals, to whom we guarantee plenty of space in a totally natural uncontaminated area.

The “Safari” area of about 5km is accessible with your own car and allows the visitor to closely observe our animal friends.

Did you know that also the Aperitivo was born in Piedmont?

It’s a very ancient story … In V century B.C. (yes, it was 2500 years ago) Greek doctor Hippocrates, father of the famous oath, invented the “vinum hippocratum” to cure the lack of appetite.

In 1786 Antonio Benedetto Carpano, owner of a small liquor store in Turin, took the old remedy to modern times inventing the vermouth by mixing white wine with more than 30 herbs and spices.Since then people start to gather in cafès to enjoy a pre-dinner drink with old friends or to meet new, making the Aperitivo not just a drink but a happening that, not by chance, we call today “happy hour”. Short after this Turin-born pleasant habit has spread in other Italian major cities like Genoa, Florence, Venice and Milan where, in 1862, Piedmont-born Gaspare Campari founds the homonym company, based in the “Cafè Campari”, located close to Duomo Square, creating his “elixirs” in the back shop.
Vermouth and Campari are the main ingredients of the world known Negroni cocktail that has a Milanese variant in the “Negroni sbagliato” (wrong Negroni) in which gin is replaced by brut sparkling wine. You can taste the original “Sbagliato” at the Bar Basso, in Milan, where it was invented.

The Piedmontese are evidently creative geniuses for aperitifs and liqueurs: MARTINI® is the guardian of the will of two men to leave a mark in Italian culture. The Wine History Museum The old exposed-brick cellars house one of the world’s most important collections relating to the history of wine-making. This extraordinary heritage consists of over 600 objects, from the ancient Greco-Roman world up to the middle of the last century: over 2000 years of wine history through objects of incredible beauty and value. The collection is one of the destinations on Piedmont’s museum circuit, and is housed in 15 rooms. Guided tours can be arranged.

There are things best experienced rather than described: the attention to every detail in the Martini style is embodied in everyone involved at the CASA MARTINI and this makes each encounter a unique experience. In a word, Martini.

The Bicerin is a must-see stop for the gourd of sweets … you can seat at the same table Cavour chose and inebriate with the scents that will reach you since the entrance. Suddenly you’ll be dragged back in 1763 when the founder Dentis opened the cafè and began to serve those strange, mistrusted at first, beverages coming from far away: tea, coffee and chocolate. In 19th century the literary and revolutionary scene attracted writers, intellectuals and artists like Alexandre Dumas, Nietzsche, Puccini that attended Turin’s historic cafès, in many of which, today, you can still breathe the same atmosphere.

In 1800 wooden tables have been replaced by marbles you can admire still today like the irreplaceable bar counter and its 40 jars of different kinds of sugared almonds.
The success arrived with the “Bicerin”, then called “poc ‘d tut” (this is really hard to translate but it could sound like “a little of everything”) made of coffe, milk and chocolate in secret amounts, served in high glasses that allows to admire the color blending. The Bicerin is a pleasure to discover and in fact, in 2001, it has been declared “traditional Piedmontese drink”.

Langhe and Roero hills

A corner of Italy which encapsulates unique gastronomic delights, often only whispered as secrets to gourmets around the world. Here Nebbiolo reigns, with its noble sons -the Barolo and Barbaresco, protected by castles, towers and fortified villages that take us back to medieval times of struggles and splendours: pilgrims, salt merchants, soldiers of fortune, the Crusaders, and Benedictine monks have all trodden this soil leaving a heritage, a sign, a legacy. But it was the farmers whose centuries of toil shaped the hills into the breathtaking landscape which widens the eyes of the tourist today. And under these so-special hills, the ultimate and most secret treasure: the White Truffle of Alba: the “grey diamond” that made Cavour crazy and sent Vittorio Emanuele II into ecstasy , the Tuber Magnatum Pico made world-famous by the youngest son of a poor family of sharecroppers, Giacomo Morra, founder of the Fiera and true deus ex machina of the Langhe.

Because the Savoy Piedmont of royal palaces and courts, of stately homes and gardens, retains its ancient wild and native soul in the Langhe and Monferrato, between groves of oak and fragrant valleys known locally as rittani, among hazelnuts and pastures, among pheasants and wild boar, in stone villages and remote rural churches. A soul with an ancestral beauty which is reflected in the snow-covered chain of the Alps which protects it from the ruffling of the marin, the sea wind that warms and perfumes it, providing the special microclimate for its inimitable wines.

But it is also a tough soul, made of hard work and sacrifice, poverty and emigration, endurance and fatalism, so well recounted by Cesare Pavese and Beppe Fenoglio, not by coincidence two of the greatest Italian writers of the twentieth century who grew up in these hills.

Do not be surprised that today all this has become a World Heritage Site and the Cultural Landscape of these vineyards has been declared the 50th Italian location to be protected by UNESCO: we have always known how to live in a unique, special and magical place.
